Why do Millenials have subprime credit?

By Steve Ely on 10/6/2016

This research from TransUnion caught my eye.  We see a lot of young people at eCredable looking to get started building credit.  Some of these people have subprime credit, but most of them have no credit at all.  One way to move up from subprime to near prime credit is to get access to better rates on credit cards and loans.  This could save you a lot of money over your lifetime, so don't put off improving your credit history.  Sometimes it's as simple as adding another account to boost your credit score.  Check out how you can use your AMP Credit Score to apply for a credit card from BBVA Compass Bank.  Once you start using the card, your credit card payments will be reported to all three major credit bureaus and your score should improve (assuming you make your payments on time).
